Extreme Love

“All Your Soul” – Mark 8:34-37

“And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.  The second is equally important; Love your neighbor as yourself.  No other commandment is greater than these"

What Jesus Asks of Me –  Then he called his disciples and the crowds to come over and listen. "If any of you wants to be my follower," he told them, "you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross, and follow me.”  Mark 8:34 (NLT)

His Promise for Me – A Paradox of Following Christ -    If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will find true life.  Mark 8:35 (NLT) 

A Great Question -  And how do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul in the process?  Is anything worth more than your soul?  Mark 8:36-37 (NLT) 

Prayer – Lord Jesus, Help me to be able to deny myself, pick up my cross and follow You.  Help me to better understand how I can love You with all my soul this week.  Thank You for Your promise to give me true life when I make the choice to give my life to You.  Help me love You with all that I am, all that I have and all that I do.  Amen.
