“The Power of Belonging” - 1 John 2:3-6

"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 (NLT)

The Power of Belonging to God is Found When We:
• Know God -  “And how can we be sure that we belong to him? By obeying his commandments.”  1 John 2:3 (NLT)

Trust Jesus as Your Lord and Savior – “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9 (NLT)

Obedience Flows From “Knowing” God’s Grace -  “You know how full of love and kindness our Lord Jesus Christ was. Though he was very rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.”  2 Cor. 8:9 (NLT)

• Keep His Word -  “But those who obey God's word really do love him. That is the way to know whether or not we live in him.”  1 John 2:5 (NLT)

• Abide In Him  -   “Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Christ did.”  1 John 2:6 (NLT)

As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness!   2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)
